I am sure you could hear the noise all over San Francisco when the Nexus 7 was announced, yesterday. It is all what we expected: 7-inch IPS 1280x720p display, Tegra 3, 1 GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a smacking $200 price-tag.
To be honest, it is an awesome deal. I am still a little broken about my decision, though. I don't like the fact that its software is smartphone based, as opposed to having a tablet OS. I understand, this can be changed with a bit of hacking and rooting, but it is still odd.
The specs are good, especially for the price. I already have a tablet with much better specs, though. Maybe it would be the perfect idea for someone that doesn't yet have a tablet. It is a great product for an amazing price, but I am just starting to feel like it is really not worth it to go out of my way to get one at this point.
What do you guys think? Are you getting one of these bad boys?

For that price it is hard to say no. You are right, though. If you already have a tablet, it might not be the biggest deal. Except for the fact that project butter and Android 4.1 are so nice! I would definitely sell my current tablet to get it.
