    Exclamation hard reset Galaxy S

does anyone know how to hard reset Samsung Galaxy S ? actually there's something wrong with my phone, it hangs now and then. one of the customer representatives from Samsung himself suggested me for the hard reset, but surprisingly he wasn't aware about the procedure

the reason he gave was--its a technical work and we are not trained for this. i am also not a kind of techno-geek , so felt of posting a thread here. any help would be greatly appreciated guys. thanx

Which version of the Galaxy S do you have? Is it an international one? One of the carrier specifics? It depends. If you have the international version, follow these instructions:

-Turn the power off. If your Samsung Galaxy S is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
    -Hold the Volume Down button
-Press and release the Power button
-You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
-Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
-Press and release the Power button
-Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

If you have any other version of the Samsung Galaxy S, just let us know and we can help you further.

Go to Settings > About Phone, and maybe (depending on your model) you might have to go to hardware. In there, you will find the Model / Model Number, Build Number and Android Version.

If you can not get into your device and look for the information from there, these details should be listed in the box and probably behind the battery. Try just taking a picture of the phone too. We will most likely be able to recognize which Samsung Galaxy S variant it is.
